Erzgebirge and European woods such as copper beech, hornbeam, birch, ash, alder, lime and others are used to make Nutcrackers.

A wooden Nutcracker consists of approximately 35 individual parts and to complete this work of art, talented craftsmen perform approximately 150 work steps, mostly by hand: cutting, planing, milling, turning, drilling, sanding, painting, and assembly. Dedicated craftsmen pay great attention to detail to ensure the highest quality - the result is unique Erzgebirge wood products.

Nutcrackers are not only a magical Christmas decoration, but also a fascinating gift for all lovers of original Erzgebirge folk art. They look noble, proud and have the typical fierce expression of Erzgebirge Nutcrackers. The small accessories and interesting details make them a wonderful decorative and collectible object.

The history of the Nutcracker dates back to antiquity, where Aristotle is considered to be the inventor of the Nutcracker. Over the centuries, the idea of the Nutcracker has been refined and improved. In the 15th century, Leonardo da Vinci developed a machine for machining wooden figures and is also said to have worked on a nutcracker. Nutcrackers have been made in the Ore Mountains since the 18th century. Over time, the Nutcracker has increasingly transformed into a purely decorative figurine that adorns the rooms of passionate collectors around the world.
